Fall Sports Awards moved back to November 3

Due to a couple conflicts the Monroe Central Fall Sports Awards has been pushed back a week. The awards were originally scheduled for Thursday, October 27 but will now start at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 3. Refreshments will be set out at 6 p.m. with awards to begin at 6:30 p.m.

Powder Puff moved to next Tuesday

It was announced this evening that due to the weather forecasts that the Powder Puff games have been pushed back to next week. The games were scheduled to be Thursday, September 29 but will now start at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4. There will be 2 games that night.

Bears win County for 8th year in a row; 4 make All-County team

For the 8th year in a row, Monroe Central’s boys finished on top in the Randolph County cross country championship. The Bears won with 26 points, outdistancing Winchester at 46 and Randolph Southern at 55. Norris, Beckham earn All-County; MC Ladies get 2nd

Monroe Central’s girls competed in the Randolph County cross country championship Tuesday afternoon. Randolph Southern won the title with 20 points, while the Lady Bears were right behind at 41 points. MC’s Bill McCollum Special Olympics Champ

Monroe Central custodian Bill McCollum  and his Special Olympics partner recently won the State Golf championship. Bill is very involved in Special Olympics with golf and bowling. Congrats to him for not only winning but for being a great person willing to share his time and effort. Kudos Mr. McCollum!
