JH Bears take 2nd, JH Ladies get 3rd at Selma Invitational

The  junior high cross country teams ran in the Selma Invitational last Friday.  

The girls team finished 3rd out of 15 teams.  

Karly Puckett was the top finisher for the girls at 6th place. Katie Osborne also earned a medal with her 12th place finish.  

Other runners for the girls team were: Gracie Baker (19th), Addison Coe (36th), Addy Puckett (37th), Ariana Poe (41st) and Kelsie Gaddis (59th).  

The 6/7th grade boys team finished 8th of 12 teams.

Hayden Taylor was the top finisher for that race at 26th place. Other boys in that race were Grant Rees (34th), Nathan Daniels (42nd), Gabe Rees (46th), Trystyn Thornburg (48th), Zayne Sampley (58th) and Lane Dance (59th).

The 8th grade team finished 2nd by 1 point to a very strong Delta team.  Carter Miller was the overall boys champion in that race with a time of 11:03.  

All of the top 5 runners for the Bears earned medals, including Tucker Burris (6th), Caden Landis (10th), Kyler Shumaker (11th) and Eli Chamberlain (13th).  James Daniels finished 18th and Gavan Duncan was 29th.  

The teams will run again this Thursday at Union.
