JV Ladies win County for 2nd straight year

The Monroe Central JV volleyball team brought back the Randolph County trophy for the second year in a row Saturday as they defeated Randolph Southern and Union City.
The JV Lady Bears defeated Randolph Southern, 25-14 and 25-17, and in the championship round defeated Union City, 25-9 and 25-15.
Mackenzie Thurman led in kills with 8, while Emalyn Watson had 6, and Allison Hoening and Riley Manship had 4 kills apiece.
Thurman had 9 digs for the weekend, while Brooke Bolton had 7 and Hoening had 6.   Watson led in aces with 14 and Manship led in blocks with 2.
Watson also led in assists with 24 for the weekend.
The JV Lady Bears ended their season undefeated in Randolph County and with a season record of 14-10.
