Hi Everyone-

As I go through our lists of top stories each week, there’s one that always stands out – Athlete of the Month. They aren’t often featured in this email, because we try to showcase a wide range of stories, but consistently they’re the powerhouses across the network.

This week’s Top 5 had three Athlete of the ‘Month’ polls – Lexington’s Player of Game vs. River Bluff (SC) Trousdale County’s Athlete of the Fall (TN), and West Bloomfield’s Laker of the Month (MI).

As you plan out your future content plan and re-tool for Winter Sports (which are just around the corner), be sure to consider them. While it’s true that page views help drive your advertising revenue-sharing checks, and move you up the leaderboard, they’re also a great way to get the community involved on your site and recognize the athletes that energize them.

Here’s this week’s top stories from across the network:

“I worked really hard all summer to get to this point. I am really happy about my race today.”

Going into this cross country season, junior Damien Lee had one goal on his mind: to set a new school record in the 5k. He did just that at the Wilson Invitational, lowering the Lake City (SC) record 35 seconds to 19:11.
