Monroe Central’s boys track has been named WZZY/Star 98.3 “Team of the Season” for the 2016 high school spring sports season.
Athletic Director Chris Landis nominated the team after they completed their 2nd season of being undefeated in dual meets. They also completed a Monroe Central first by winning the Muncie Central B Relay title. The Bears, under coach Preston Proctor, won the Northeastern Invitational for the 2nd year in a row, won the County for the 4th year in a row, and won the MEC for the 2nd year in a row.
Individually Drew Pierce (100), Joshua Randall (200), and Nick Mitchell (300 hurdles) set school records.
All in all it has been two years of fantastic athleticism, award winning, trophy collecting awesomeness!
Joel Brantingham, who coordinate the Athlete of the Week and Team of the Season programs has passed on his congratulations to our Bears!
