Monroe Central jumped out to a 7-0 lead and used four pitchers in defeating Seton Catholic at McBride Stadium in Richmond on Tuesday evening.
Senior southpaw Cody Mieth threw four scoreless innings, allowing only 2 hits and walking 3 while striking out one. Logan Conklin threw a scoreless inning, Derek Goodman allowed two runs on two hits in 1 inning of work, and Seth Wilson had two strikeouts in a scoreless inning.
At the dish, Mieth was 2-for-4 with a double, a triple, one run scored, two RBI’s and a stolen base. Seth Wilson was 1-for-4 with a double, a run and a stolen base; Logan Conklin singled, scored twice, drove in a run, and stole 3 bases; Brady Jones singled, scored, and drove in a run; and Wyatt Snyder had an RBI single.
Tucker Young singled in the game, while Goodman scored and drove in a run, Nick Cox had an RBI, and Noah McCollum stole a base and scored.
The Class 2A honorable mention Bears are now 4-0 and will travel to Yorktown tonight.
