Yorktown used 14 hits Wednesday night to erase an early 3-0 deficit and hand Monroe Central their first loss of the year, 16-7.
The Bears jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first but Yorktown used a trio of 3-run innings to lead 10-4 after five innings. Right after the Bears climbed back into the game at 10-7, the Tiger put up a 6-spot in the sixth to pull away for the win.
Sophomore Tyler haney started for MC and allowed 3 runs but no earned runs in two innings of work. Keith Friddle and Casey Conatser then made their pitching debuts throwing the last 4 innings as Yorktown hit 3 home runs and scored 12 earned runs.
Sophomore Seth Wilson was 2-for-3 with two doubles, a run, one RBI, a stolen base, and he was one of nine batters hit in the game.
Senior Logan Conklin had a two-run single, scored, and stole a base while Brady Jones singled, stole a base, and scored 3 times.
Wyatt Snyder had an RBI single, Tucker Young singled, Cody Mieth and Conatser each picked up RBIs and Nick Cox and Noah McCollum each scored a run.
The Bears, 4-1, will be back in action tonight as they host Muncie Central.
