Seven errors and 9 unearned runs led to a pair of big innings for Muncie Central Thursday evening as they defeated the Golden Bears 14-2.
Starter Derek Goodman saw 7 unearned runs cross in a 9-run 3rd inning for the Bearcats. Over 4 innings, he allowed 7 hits, two walks and he fanned two. Reliever Chandler Hoel also saw three earned runs cross in a 5-run 5th inning while walking two and striking out 3.
Logan Conklin and Wyatt Snyder each had two hits to lead the MC offense. Conklin singled home a run and then scored a run when Snyder drove him in with a single. Brad Jones stole a base and also scored for the Bears. Nick Cox had a single and a stolen base.
MC, now 4-2, will host the 6th ranked Hagerstown Tigers who are 6-0 and have allowed only one run this year. The varsity starts at 11 a.m. with the JV to follow.
