Multiple Teams · 6th ranked Hagerstown slips past Bears, 4-2

Class A 6th ranked Hagerstown remained undefeated Saturday as they escaped Monroe Central, 4-2.

Hagerstown improved to 7-0 while the Bears dropped to 4-3.

The Tigers took a 2-0 lead in the 3rd only to have the Bears get on the board in the 3rd as well. Hagerstown added a run in the 4th while MC made it 3-2 with a run in the 5th. The Tigers scored an insurance run in the 7th to lock up the win.

The Tigers had only given up 1 run through six games, until the Bears broke through with a pair of runs. Seth Wilson was hit by a pitch, stole a base, and came around to score while Logan Conklin was 2-for-3 with a run, a stolen base, and an RBI. Wyatt Snyder singled and stole a base in the game.

Wilson started for the Bears and threw 3 innings allowing 2 earned runs with a pair of walks and 5 strikeouts. Cody Mieth threw 3 innings and allowed 2 earned runs with a pair of strikeouts and Conklin threw 1 scoreless inning with a walk and 2 strikeouts

The Bears travel to Union City on Tuesday.
