A 15-hit attack helped Monroe Central’s varsity baseball team pick up their 13th win of the year Thursday night. The Golden Bears defeated Randolph Southern, 9-2 to improve to 13-6 overall and 3-1 in the MEC.
The game was originally scheduled to be at Randolph Southern but due to playing conditions it was moved to Monroe Central.
Southpaw Cody Mieth threw 6 innings allowing 3 hits, 2 runs, 3 walks, and he fanned 3. Seth Wilson threw the 7th allowing one walk while also striking out a batter.
At the plate, Derek Goodman was 4-for-4 with two runs, three RBI’s, and one of the Bears’ 7 extra base hits. Seth Wilson went deep in a 2-for-4 performance with two runs, one RBI, and a double.
Logan Conklin was 2-for-4 with a double, two stolen bases, and a run scored. Brady Jones was 2-for-3 with a double, two runs, one RBI and a stolen base, while Casey Conatser was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Wyatt Snyder had an RBI double and scored.
Tucker Young had an RBI double, Jalen Hart was 1-fr-1 with an RBI, and Braden Case stolen a base and scored.
The Bears will be off until next Monday when they host South Adams on Senior Night at 5 p.m.
