Monroe Central’s girls came up short of their goal of winning the Randolph County cross country championship for the first time since 2013 Tuesday night, finishing second behind Randolph Southern.
Southern won with a point total of 32, while Monroe Central was second at 43, and Union City 3rd at 50. Union and Winchester did not have complete teams.
Aubrey Norris (3rd) and Gabby Beckham (7th) were named All-County for their top 10 finish.
Sophomore Leah Keesling, of Randolph Southern, won the race in 19:45.7.
Other Lady Bears included Adriahn Hindsley (11th), Saij Sampley (13th), Emma Formanek (16th), Madyson Davison (17th), and Claudia Lambert (21st).
The Lady Bears will compete in the MEC championship Saturday at Blue River.
