Multiple Teams · Lady Bears end regular season with win over BRV; JV County is tomorrow

The Monroe Central Lady Bears finished their regular season with a win against Blue River Valley Thursday night, 25-16, 25-23, and 25-12.

Leading the Bears in kills were Jordyn Barga with 10, Miranda Haney with 7, and Abigail McGrath with 5. Leading in digs was Katie Pike and Lauren Yates with 11 digs apiece, Barga with 10, and Mikayla Fields with 9.

Leading in aces was McGrath, Fields, and Pike each with 4 aces apiece.  Fields had 23 assists for the night.

The Lady Bears are now 17-15 for the season and 5-4 in the MEC.

The JV Lady Bears also defeated Blue River in 3 with scores of 20-25, 25-20, and 15- 10.  Mackenzie Thurman led in kills with 6, Allison Hoening and Emalyn Watson had 3 kills apiece.
Brooke Bolton led in digs with 23, Thurman had 9, and Hoening had 5. Emalyn Watson led in aces with 6 and Bolton had 4. Taegan Eiler had 4 blocks for the night. 
Watson also lead in assists with 14.  
The JV team is now 12-10 for the season.
The JV Lady Bears have their last season games this weekend at Union City on Saturday, as they will try to defend their championship title in the JV County Tournament.
The Varsity team will begin their sectional tournament play on Saturday, Oct. 12 against Lapel at 11 am at Alexandria High School.
