Girls Middle School Cross Country, Girls Varsity Cross Country · Lady Bears place 3rd at Sectional, advance to Delta Regional

Monroe Central’s girls’ cross country team placed 3rd last weekend in the Delta Sectional at the Sports Plex advancing to the Regional.

Delta won the title with 55 points, edging runner-up Randolph Southern with 60 points and Monroe Central in 3rd with 88 points.

The two other teams advancing were Muncie Burris in 4th place at 102 points and Union City in 5th with 110 points.

Also competing were Wapahani in 6th with 128 points and Jay County in 7th with 141 points.

Senior Aubrey Norris placed 3rd in 20:59.7, while also making the top 20 were sophomores Gabby Beckham 10th in 22:24.7 and Hannah Bolton 19th in 23:23.7.

Rounding out the day for the Layd Bears were junior Adriahn Hindsley 36th in 25:27.6, freshman Emma Formanek 37th in 25:43.0, sophomore Saij Sampley 38th in 26:08.7, and in 42nd was junior Madyson Davison in 26:53.2.

The 5 teams from Pendleton Heights joining in at the Delta Regional are Yorktown, Pendleton Heights, Mt. Vernon, Lapel and Frankton.
