Multiple Teams · JH Bears beat Tipton, 32-8, to end the year undefeated

The pipeline for Monroe Central football is running quite well. Tuesday night the junior high Bears defeated Tipton,  32-8, to cap off an undefeated 8-0 season.

The JH Bears built a 26-0 halftime lead on Tipton before cruising to the win.

Coach Beau Benken said, “The junior high football team finished the year undefeated for the first time since the current senior class were eighth graders. Congrats Golden Bears!”

For the year, MC outscored opponents, 314-64, for a 39.3 offensive average and allowing 8 points a game. The defense allowed only 16 points in the first half of the eight games.

The Bears faced their toughest competition to end the year – an undefeated Wes-Del team, MEC foe Shenandoah, and Tipton whose varsity is ranked #2 in the Class 2A AP poll.

In those three games, the Bears outscored those teams, 102-38.
