Multiple Teams · 4th ranked Bears advance with 57-6 win over Bulldogs

Monroe Central advanced to the 2nd round of post-season play Friday night with a 57-6 win over Clinton Central in their first ever meeting.

Not even 2 minutes into the game, senior back Wyatt Snyder raced 25 yards for a TD and kicked the extra point to put MC up 7-0.

Junior Kamron Caldwell then caught a 17 yard pass from senior QB Casey Conatser for a score and a 13-0 lead.

Senior Israel Nash went 59 yards for a score and a 19-0 Bear advantage. Conatser hit junior Seth Wilson on a 42 yard scoring strike and Snyder kicked the PAT to make it 26-0.


Wilson scored from 7 yards out and Caldwell tacked on a 25 yard TD run to make it 38-0 at the half.

Snyder went unscathed for a 75 yard score and kicked the PAT to make in 45-0 early in the 3rd quarter. Nash had a 3 yard scoring run and sophomore Logan Patterson passed to sophomore Malcolm Armour to make it a 57-0 game before the Bulldogs got a late score.

For the game, Conatser was 8-for-13 passing for 214 yards, while Snyder threw for 41 yards and Patterson threw a 6 yard score.

The ears rushed for 300 yards on the night with Snyder leading the way with 107 yards. Nash ran for 72 yards, Wilson 57, and Caldwell 39.

Caldwell led 5 receivers with 108 yards, while Nash had 87, Wilson 42, and Nick Mitchell 18.



Junior Kaden Conklin led the defense with 13 tackles, including 2.5 for loss. Junior Taft Manship had 10 tackles, Wilson had 8, sophomore Clinton Moles had 7, senior Keegan Jane had 6, and with 5 were Seth Fields, Kobe Brown, and Justin Hoyt. Conklin and Brown each recorded sacks in the game.
The defense collected forced 7 turnovers on the night as Snyder had 2 interceptions returning one 48 yards, while Manship recovered a fumble and forced a fumble. Matt Poole and Nash each had interceptions, Fields and Kane each recovered fumbles, while Conklin forced two fumbles and forcing one each were Fields and Mitchell.
The Bears (9-1) will host Clinton Prairie (5-5) this Friday night,
