Monday night did not lack anything for the junior high boys basketball openers. In front of a near capacity crowd, the 7th grade broke open a close game with a barrage of three-pointers while the 8th grade battled and used a 25-foot bank shot to wrap up the dramatic sweep.
The 7th grade game saw MC on top 20-17 at the half. But a 41-point explosion in the 2nd half led the JH Bears to a 61-43 win.
The Bears hit 7 of their 8 three-pointers in the second half breaking open a close game as they improved to 3-0.
Scoring leaders included Luke Jones with 23 points, Joey Ullom with 13 points, Joseph Foster had 12, and Blake Vogue scored eight.
The 8th grade Bears took down Driver (Winchester) in a last second thriller 39-36 as Jackson Ullom banked in a 25-foot three with just a 2.8 seconds left.
Ullom led the Bears with 17, while Joel Kennedy had 7, and Rhody Braun, Reggie Gross, Gavin Smithson each had four points apiece.
The 8th grade is also now 3-0.
MC will travel to Northeastern on Monday, November 27.
