Monroe Central’s JH boys basketball teams earned two more wins Monday night at Northeastern.
The 7th grade pulled out a close victory, 31-30, in a game that was considered slow pace for MC’s fast playing guards.
Luke Jones led the Bears with 14 points followed by Joseph Foster with 10.
MC’s 8th grade handled the Knights of Northeastern easily by scoring 34 points in the first half and cruising to a 45-17 win.
The 8th grade Bears only allowed 4 field goals (9 points) during the entire contest with Northeastern’s remaining 8 points coming from the free throw line.
The Bears were led tonight by Joel Kennedy with 15 points followed by Caleb Snyder and Jackson Ullom with 8 points each. Rhody Braun contributed 6 points to the balanced scoring attack.
Both teams are off to a great start to the season, each boasting a 4-0 record. The teams will travel to Hagerstown on Wednesday before hosting Blue River on Thursday.
