Boys 8th Grade Basketball · JH Bears sweep Blue River; both squads undefeated at 6-0

Monroe Central’s junior high boys basketball teams are rolling . . . to six straight victories to open the 2017-18 season.

Thursday marked the second MEC team they have swept, as Blue River Valley came calling.

The 7th grade Bears won their game 47-34 against a really talented Vikings team that had only one loss coming in.
“A great effort by everyone keep the winning streak going,” said coach Kevin Patterson.
Scoring leaders were Luke Jones with 21 points, Joey Ullom with 13, and Blake Bogue added 5.
The 8th Grade boys took down the Vikings in quick fashion by putting up 23 points in the first quarter in witch Jackson Ullom had 16 of those. The Bears rolled to a 53-24 win over the Vikings.
Ullom finished the contest with a season-high 22 points total. Reggie Gross added 8 points and Brody Buis scored 6 points all in the fourth quarter.
Next up for the Jr High Bears will be Muncie Southside on the road Monday.
