Monroe Central’s junior varsity girls used a 26-point 3rd quarter to defeat Eastern Hancock 51-23 Wednesday night and improve to 12-0 on the year.
The JV Ladies led 8-7 after one stop and 19-10 at the half. Hannah McCollum’s 11-point outburst in the 3rd led to a 26-point effort and a 45-14 advantage headed into the final quarter. Eastern Hancock cut three points from the final 28 point deficit in the last 7 minutes.
McCollum led the way with 13 points, while with 6 apiece were Brooke Bolton, Mabrey Buis, Tori Gill, and Destiny Armour. Allie Morrison scored 5 points, Gabby Beckham netted 4, Allison Hoening scored 3, and with 2 was Taegan Eiler.
The JV will play Alexandria on Friday at Selma Middle School at 10 a.m.
