Girls Junior Varsity Basketball · JV Lady Bears take County title, now 15-0

Leaving no doubt in claiming their 15th straight win and the Randolph County tourney title, Monroe Central’s JV Lady Bears outscored foes 103-52 this week.

In the championship game against Winchester on Tuesday, MC jumped out to a 17-5 lead and went on to win 53-28.

The JV Ladies led 29-14 at the half and 48-20 by the 3rd break.

Brooke Bolton led the way with 4 three-pointers for a game-high 16 points. She also had four assists in the game.

Hannah McCollum scored 12 and dished out 5 assists, Tori Gill had 8 points, and with 5 points each were Mabrey Buis, Allie Morrison, and Gabby Beckham. Allison Hoening scored 2.

Beckham had 7 rebounds and 5 assists, Buis had 4 rebounds and 3 steals and Hoening had 4 deflections.


In Monday’s semi-final, MC jumped out to a 30-6 halftime lead en route to a 50-24 win over Union City.

The JV Lady Bears were up 16-4 after one quarter and 43-19 after three quarters.


McCollum led the way with 12 points, while Beckham scored 10. Morrison and Buis each had 7, Destiny Armour scored 5, Gill had 4, Hoening and Bolton each scored 2, and with 1 was Taegan Eiler.

Now at 15-0, the JV Ladies next game will be Monday at home against Frankton.
