Monroe Central’s girls junior high basketball teams were on the road to Randolph Southern Tuesday night, sweeping the Rebels.
The 8th grade Lady Bears defeated the Rebels by a score of 29-13.
“(We) came out with a strong fourth quarter to pull away,” said Coach Bracken Barga.
MC was led in scoring by Sami Farmer, but the scoring was balanced across the board according to Coach Barga.
The 7th grade Lady Bears won against Randolph Southern 23-17.
“(We) played one of our best games of the season, and they really showed how much they’ve improved,” said Coach Emmarae Roberts.
Leah Osbourne scored 9, Caylie Newsome scored 8, Lydia Price scored 4, and Sophie Budreau scored 2 points.
The JH Ladies will host Union City on Thursday.
