Monroe Central’s JH girls basketball teams ventured to Muncie South Monday night and swept a pair of games.
The 8th grade Lady Bears defeated Southside by a score of 44-14.
“(We) started the game with great defensive intensity and carried it throughout the whole game,” said Coach Bracken Barga. “The defense led to many easy baskets all night.”
Leading scorers were Catherine Duncan and Sami Farmer.
The 8th grade is now 17-1 on the year.
The 7th grade Lady Bears won in overtime against Muncie South, 22-21, picking up their 3rd straight win.
“(We) had a slow start, but picked it up in the second half and in overtime,” said Coach Emmarae Roberts.
Leah Osbourne scored 13, Lydia Price scored 6, and Breanna Hale scored 3 points.
