Boys Junior Varsity Basketball · JV Bears big 2nd half leads to 57-41 win over Winchester

It was a long 4 weeks but Monroe Central got the chance to avenge a county title loss to Winchester Thursday night. The JV Bears lost to the Falcons in early January by 14, but on this night a 36 point second half lifted MC to a 57-41 win.

Winchester hit five three-pointers in the first half to lead 18-11 after one quarter and 26-21 at the half. Dustin Wright scored 10 points in the first half to help keep MC close.

Sophomore Noel Childeess came out on fire in the 3rd quarter hitting 3 three-pointers and scoring 12 points in the quarter as the Bears raced in front 39-32 outscoring the Falcons 18-6.

The offense continued to click in the 4th quarter as six different players scored and the Bears pulled away to a 16 point win.


Childress, who put up 20 in the county title game against Winchester, scored a game-high 22. Sam Feola scored 11 and Wigfht added 10. Landan Patterson and Roman Braun each scored 6, while with 1 point apiece were Caden Shumaker and Bryce Deckman.


The JV Bears will be back at it at noon on Saturday when MC hosts Northeastern.
