After falling behind 12-4 early, Monroe Central’s 8th grade ladies rallied to end the season on a high note defeating Eastern Hancock, 40-34.
“The strong defense and taking care of the ball led to the victory,” said coach Bracken Barga.
The Lady Bears finished the season 19-2 only losing to one team.
“It was an incredible ride to be on and I was just thankful to be apart of it,” Barga said. “The improvements that we’re made from the beginning to the end of the season were dramatic. I am excited to see what the future has in store for this group of young ladies.”
The Lady Bears won the East Jay Invitational and the Monroe Central Invitational along the way, defeating solid teams such as Yorktown and Selma.
