Senior Israel Nash and junior Matt Poole have been selected and accepted invitations to play in the 1st annual MEC vs. TEC All-Star games.
Nash and Poole will play on 12-member teams from the MEC in games to be played at Northeastern High School on April 14. The junior all-star game will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the senior game set to start at 8 p.m. Nash finished his senior season with 563 points and a 26.8 scoring average which puts him at 5th best in the state this year. His career total checks in at 1,559 which puts him 2nd all-time.
Nash averaged 3.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 2.4 steals while hitting 49 percent from the field, 30 percent behind the arc, and 71 percent at the charity stripe. His season highs included 47 points, 6 steals, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists which he duplicated in mire than one game.
Poole was back on the hardwood after a year’s absence. He completed his junior year averaging 2 points, 3.6 rebounds and hitting 65 percent from the field. Matt had a season high 8 rebounds twice and hauled in 7 three times this year.
