Girls Middle School Track · JH Ladies sweep 4-way meet at Blackford

The Monroe Central Jr. High Ladies’ track team placed 1st last night in a field of four. The JH Lady Bears won with a score of 72.5, outdistancing West Jay 49, Blackford 35.5, and Wes-Del 33.

The JH Lady Bears are 5-1 for the season.
“Strong Performances in field events carried the team to victory,” said Coach Kristen Maurer.
Sami Farmer placed 1st in High Jump, Shot Put, and Discus, beating her own jr. high school record with a throw of 80’9.5″.
Taryn Armour placed 1st in Long Jump, while Alex McGrath, Peyton Gillespie, and Audrey Stoops added points in field events.
The 400 M Relay team of Armour, McGrath, Macy Shinn, and Riley Cox also placed 1st.
Stoops, Shinn, Harmony Armour, Nakisha Fields, Karly Puckett, Gillespie, and Farmer all turned in personal best performances.
The JH team will run Monday at Union City and Inspire Academy.
