Monroe Central’s jr. high boys track team improved their record to 7-2 Wednesday night with a 63-37 win over Daleville.
“The team had 23 personal records on the night showing off their hard work and determination to get better,” said Coach Ross Braun.
Top finishers were Stetson Bennett in the 110 hurdles, Carter Miller in the 1600 meter and 800 meter runs, Isaac Morgan in the 100 meter dash, Brady Hiatt in Shot Put, Discus and the 400 meter run, Briar Butler in the High Jump and the 4 x 400 relay team of Hiatt, Dorian Weesner, Miller and Morgan.
“A special congratulations to 8th grader, Brady Hiatt, who set a new MC junior high shot put record last night with a throw of 51 feet 11 inches,” noted Coach Braun.
Second place finishers were Morgan in the 100 and 200, Caden Landis in the 1600, James Daniels in the 400, Eli Chamberlain in the 800, and Ben Miner in the shot put and discus.
Placing third in the meet were Weesner in the hurdles, Landis in the 800, and Butler in the long jump.
The JH Bears will run at Hagerstown with Blue River on Wednesday, May 2.
