Boys Varsity Track · Bears take County title for 6th year in a row


The Monroe Central boys track team won their 6th straight County Championship Thursday night over Union City by 12 points.  The Bears won with 112 points, Union City had 100 points, Winchester 82 and with 12 was Randolph Southern.
The MC Boys were led by:
-Senior Nick Mitchell who dominated the 110 and 300 Hurdles and was on the wining 4 x100 and 4 x 400 relay teams.
-The 4 x 800 Relay team of Conner Miller, Riley Moulton, Dalton Winans and Zane Kear were County Champions.
-Junior Kamron Caldwell won the Long Jump.
-The 4 X 100 Relay team of Caldwell, Braydon Earls, Malcom Armour and Mitchell were champions.
-The 4 x 400 Relay team of Armour, Winans, Mitchell and Kear were Champions in a season best 3:37.
-Armour in his third race ever in the 300 m hurdles placed second with a fine time of 45.61.
-Jamie Hancock and Logan Swallow placed 2nd and 3rd in the Discus to bolster the Bears score.
The Bears host the MEC Championship Tuesday.
