Girls Middle School Track · JH Lady Bears sweep 4-way; Farmer breaks own school record


The Monroe Central Lady Bears jr. high track team  was victorious in a 4-way meet with Seton Catholic, Randolph Southern, and Union Monday night. Scores were: MC 66, Seton 62.5, Randolph Southern 29.5, Union 22.

Alex McGrath placed first in High Jump with a jump of 4’6″
Sami Farmer placed first in Shotput with a throw of 28’8.5″ and Discus – extending her school record to 86’5″.
The 400 M Relay team of Taryn Armour, Alex McGrath, Macy Shinn, and Riley Cox placed first with a season best time of 58.35 seconds.
2nd places went to Taryn Armour (Hurdles), Karly Puckett (1600, 800), Carol-Anne Kritsch (400), Sami Farmer (High Jump).
Other point scorers were: Macy Shinn, Taryn Armour, Riley Cox, Katie Osborne, Addy Puckett, Lilly Garner, Audrey Stoops, Peyton Gillespie
“The Lady Bears continue to improve individual times, turning in 17 person best performance for the night,” said Coach Kristen Maurer.
Improved times were handed in by: Breanna Hale, Molly Greer, Karly Puckett, Katie Osborne, Addison Coe, Carol-Anne Kritsch, Alivia Arvin, Alex McGrath, Sami Farmer, Maggie Haney, Audrey Stoops, and both relay teams.
The Lady Bears are 11-2 for the season and host Eastern Hancock on Wednesday.
