Monroe Central’s softball team may have turned a corner. After claiming the Randolph County tourney title last weekend, the Lady Bears cranked out 15 hits in a 13-1 win over Northeastern Monday night.
Monroe Central was up 3-1 after one inning, 6-1 after three, 10-1 after four, and went on to win by 12.
Samantha Roderick led the way with 3 hits, while Paige Willen had a pair of doubles, and Mabrey Buis had two hits and one RBI. Faith Cope had a pair of hits, including a 3-run home run, and finished with 5 RBI’s. Willen drove in 4 runs in the game.
Jordyn Barga threw 5 innings of 2-hit ball, struckout 2 and picked up her 3rd straight win.
The Lady Bears will travel to Seton Catholic on Wednesday.
