For the 2nd time during the Lady Bear softball win streak, Monroe Central rallied in the bottom of the 7th inning. Sophomore Mabrey Buis hit a 3-run home run Thursday night to lift MC past Daleville, 5-4.
The Lady Bears scored first as Jordyn Barga singled and later scored on an RBI hit from Buis.
Daleville took a 2-1 lead in the 2nd, extended it to 3-1 in the 5th, and led 4-1 going into the bottom of the 7th inning.
With one out in the 7th, Samantha Roderick singled and advanced to 2nd on an error. Barga smacked an RBI double to make it a 4-2 game, then Faith Cope walked to put runners at first and second. Buis came to the plate and launched the 3-run shot over the centerfield fence.
Buis drove in 4 runs on two hits to lead the Lady Bears to their 5th straight win.
Barga threw a complete game striking out 11.
The Lady Bears, 8-10, travel to Winchester tonight before heading into the final week of the regular season.
