Monroe central’s junior high boys track team fell one point short of a sweep Monday night at Union City. The host Indians won the meet with 58.5 points edging the JH Bears with 57.5 and placing 3rd was Inspire Academy with 10 points.
Winners on the night were Isaac Morgan (200), Carter Miller (800, 1600), and Brady Hiatt (discus, shot put, 400). Runner-up finishes were turned in by Haston Cope (110 hurdles), Briar Butler (high jump), Ben Miner (discus), and the 400 and 1600 relay teams.
Third places were earned by Butler (long jump), Bennett (110 hurdles), Morgan (100), and Easton Foster (high jump). Finishing in 4th place on the night were Bennett (long jump), James Daniels (400), Miner (shot put), Caden Lanis (1600), and Eli Chamberlain (800).
The Bears will host the Randolph County meet tonight.
