Monroe Central’s boys golf team competed against some big schools and at least one ranked team Saturday in the 13-team Connersville Invitational.
North Central won the team title with a score of 341, beating 12th ranked Brebeuf who turned in a 350. New Palestine shot a 355, Connersville a 365, Greensburg 369, Batesville 369, Avon 375, and Monroe Central a 382.
Rounding out the team scores were Trinity Lutheran 383, Daleville 402, North Decatur 402, Connersville #2 428, and Lawrence Central 429.
North Decatur’s Cole Parmer shot an 80 on the par-72 course to claim the individual title. Rounding out the top 5 were North Central’s Ben Frencl with an 81, Batesville’s Tristan Lamppert 81, and with 83’s were Connersville’s Dalton Lee and Greenburg’s Ben Bausback.
Monroe Central was led by freshman Shawn Roderick with an 88 followed by Ryder Jones with a 93. Ross Shafer turned in a 96, Landon Taylor shot a 105, and Roman Braun had a 116.
