Monroe Central’s junior softball team had their season end with a second round tournament loss.
The JH Lady Bears finished the summer with a 5-5 record. Their regular season record of 4-4 is a little deceiving as a year ago the teams played 5 inning doubleheaders twice a week which would have led to a 16 game schedule. But this year due to low numbers on numerous teams and the heat, MC’s games were of the regular 7-inning variety.
MC’s numbers grew as the season went on picking up several players. Coach Zoey Nuckols’ enthusiasm for the game helped grow interest as well as helped improve a team that did not win a game last summer.
Congratulations to the JH Lady Bears.
