7th Grade: The 7th Grade Lady Bears traveled to Lincoln on Tuesday evening for a matchup with the Golden Eagles and came home with another convincing win, defeating the hosts 39-12 and improving to 6-0 on the season. MC got off to a hot start and finished the first quarter with a 9-0 lead. Great defense led to great offense for the young Bears, with extra passes leading to several transition buckets. The second half started the same as the first for MC, with many more hustle plays and great passes accounting for much of the Bear’s scoring. All 13 girls saw floor time and contributed to the victory. The Bears were led in scoring by Delainee Whitehead with a season high 16, Alexa Tinsman with 14, Remmie Morrison with 4, Scarlett Davis with 3 and Emma Croyle with 2. The Lady Bears travel to Northeastern on Thursday for a matchup with the Knights - GO BEARS!!! 8th Grade: The 8th grade girls basketball team traveled Cambridge City Tuesday and defeated the Golden Eagles 48-12. All the girls contributed on both ends of the court with everyone scoring but Ada Wagner who passed up an opportunity and delivered a dime to Lillie Morery on the play. Scoring was as follows. Mati McConnell 15, Izzy McGrath 14, Landry Taylor 6, Mila Morris and Gracie McCreery 4, Claire Cheesman and Lillie Morery 2, Brynlee Dumpert 1. The ladies will travel to Northeastern on Thursday to face the Knights.
