The 7th Grade Lady Bears traveled to Daleville on Saturday morning for the MEC championship and came up just short, losing 26-37 to Eastern Hancock in the championship game. The young Bears defeated a tough Shenandoah team in the semi-finals, winning 27-20. With 2 starters fouled out, Peyton Myers and Alayna Dickson gave great minutes off the bench. Delainee Whitehead and Mabrey Cheesman gave gutsy performances, playing all 24 minutes of the game. In the finale, the Bears ultimately ran out of gas and closed the first quarter down 0-11. The gutsy Lady Bears played the rest of the game even but the early deficit was too much to overcome. The girls will play again on Tuesday when they host Selma. GO BEARS!!!
