Game 1: Monroe Central Varsity Bears With Tough Game Against Alexandria-Monroe By GameChanger Media Monroe Central Varsity Bears couldn't keep up with Alexandria-Monroe and fell 11-3 on Saturday. Alexandria-Monroe jumped out to the lead in the top of the second inning after Mason McCorkle doubled, scoring two runs, and Owen May drew a walk, scoring one run. Griffin Cox earned the win for Alexandria-Monroe. The hurler gave up six hits and three runs (two earned) over seven innings, striking out 10 and walking four. Levi Pence took the loss for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. The pitcher went three innings, giving up three runs on four hits, striking out two and walking five. Caleb Luedike led Monroe Central Varsity Bears with three hits in three at bats. Isaac Middleton and Luedike each drove in one run for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. Jed Ferguson stole three bases. Mason Fuller doubled, scoring three runs, to give Alexandria-Monroe the advantage, 4-1. Alexandria-Monroe added two runs in the third after Monroe Central Varsity Bears committed an error.
