Strong Hitting Not Enough As Monroe Central Varsity Bears Falls To Hagerstown By GameChanger Media Monroe Central Varsity Bears fell 15-9 to Hagerstown on Saturday despite out-hitting them 11 to 10. Caleb Luedike led Monroe Central Varsity Bears with three hits. Luedike collected three hits in five at bats in the loss. Luedike singled in the second inning, singled in the sixth inning, and singled in the seventh inning. Monroe Central Varsity Bears jumped out to the lead in the top of the second inning after Jed Ferguson singled, scoring one run, Kyler Bogue singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Luedike singled, scoring one run, Carson Siekmann doubled, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run. Hagerstown tied the game in the bottom of the third thanks to a double by Zack Logston, a double by Nick Tinkle, and a single by Gaige Howard. Hagerstown took the lead in the bottom of the fourth. Graham Vinson hit a solo home run to left field, to give Hagerstown the lead, 8-7. Carter Morris began the game for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. The starter surrendered nine hits and 11 runs (seven earned) over four and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking three. Jonah Hale began the game for Hagerstown. The pitcher surrendered 11 hits and nine runs (four earned) over seven innings, striking out 11 and walking three. Monroe Central Varsity Bears tallied 11 hits in the game. Levi Pence drove the middle of the lineup, leading Monroe Central Varsity Bears with two runs batted in. The left-handed hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Ferguson and Siekmann each collected multiple hits for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. Hagerstown accumulated 10 hits in the game. Howard led Hagerstown with three runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The infielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Hagerstown's Kaden Hall, the number seven hitter, led Hagerstown with three hits in three at bats. Logston collected two hits for Hagerstown in four at bats. Hall, Fletcher Callahan, and Vinson each stole multiple bases for Hagerstown. Hagerstown ran wild on the base paths, piling up 12 stolen bases for the game.
