Alexa Tinsman Has Lots Of Hits But Monroe Central JH Fall To Elwood JH By GameChanger Media Alexa Tinsman collected three hits in four at bats, but Monroe Central JH lost to Elwood JH 7-6 on Thursday at Monroe Central Elementary School. Tinsman singled in the sixth inning, singled in the third inning, and singled in the fifth inning. Monroe Central JH lost despite out-hitting Elwood JH 12 to six. Izzy McGrath led Monroe Central JH with four hits. A ground out by Mati McConnell put Monroe Central JH on the board in the top of the second. M Humphries walked, which helped Elwood JH tie the game at one in the bottom of the second. A single by L Becker gave Elwood JH the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the third. Elwood JH committed an error, which helped Monroe Central JH tie the game at two in the top of the fourth. Monroe Central JH captured the lead, 4-2, in the top of the fifth after Haidyn Knott tripled down the right field line, and McGrath singled, each scoring one run. Elwood JH tied the game in the bottom of the seventh thanks to a single by Becker, an error, and a walk by #38. Humphries earned the win for Elwood JH. The hurler gave up seven hits and four runs over five innings, striking out two and walking none. Delainee Whitehead took the loss for Monroe Central JH. The pitcher went three and one-third innings, allowing five runs (two earned) on four hits, striking out five and walking three. Knott led things off in the circle for Monroe Central JH. The starting pitcher allowed two hits and two runs (one earned) over three innings, striking out seven and walking six. Monroe Central JH tallied 12 hits in the game. McGrath drove the middle of the lineup, leading Monroe Central JH with two runs batted in. The first baseman went 4-for-4 on the day. Ellie Lanter and Tinsman each stole multiple bases for Monroe Central JH. Monroe Central JH stole 10 bases in the game. Becker and K Kennedy were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Elwood JH. Becker provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Elwood JH with two runs batted in. The first baseman went 2-for-3 on the day. M Capps led Elwood JH with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting nine walks for the game.
