2026 MC Varsity Golden Bears Come Up Short Against Tri By GameChanger Media 2026 MC Varsity Golden Bears lost to Tri 7-4 on Thursday. A home run to center field by Avery Dungan put Tri on the board in the bottom of the first. Tri committed an error, which helped 2026 MC Varsity Golden Bears tie the game at two in the top of the fourth. In the bottom of the fourth, Tri broke up the tie when a dropped third strike scored one run. Then a single by Dungan followed to extend the lead to 5-2. 2026 MC Varsity Golden Bears scored one run in the top of the sixth on a solo home run to center field by Lucy Huston. Huston started in the circle for 2026 MC Varsity Golden Bears. The starting pitcher gave up nine hits and seven runs (two earned) over six innings, striking out eight and walking three. Dungan began the game for Tri. The starting pitcher allowed two hits and four runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out 11 and walking two. Haidyn Dumpert and Huston were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected one hit for 2026 MC Varsity Golden Bears. Huston went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Dungan drove the middle of the lineup, leading Tri with five runs batted in. The number three hitter went 3-for-3 on the day. MacKenzie Laurie and Lyla Williams each collected multiple hits for Tri. Rylan Matthews and Ava Griffin each stole multiple bases for Tri. Tri stole eight bases in the game.
