Whitehead allowed three hits and two runs over four and two-thirds innings while walking none. Monroe Central JH got on the board in the third inning after Alexa Tinsman singled, scoring one run. A ground out by A Hile gave Union City JH the lead, 2-1, in the top of the fourth. Monroe Central JH jumped into the lead in the bottom of the fourth when Mati McConnell singled, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run. J Bermudez took the loss for Union City JH. The pitcher went six innings, surrendering six runs (three earned) on six hits, striking out 11 and walking one. Haidyn Knott threw two and one-third innings of scoreless ball for Monroe Central JH in relief. The reliever allowed zero hits, striking out three and walking one. McConnell went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. McConnell and Brynlee Dumpert each stole multiple bases for Monroe Central JH.
