JH Softball defeats Driver 16-2 in the Randolph County Championship! Alexa Tinsman Puts On Strong Contact Performance As Monroe Central JH Take The Win Over Driver Middle School By GameChanger Media Alexa Tinsman collected four hits in four at bats, as Monroe Central JH defeated Driver Middle School 16-2 on Saturday at Union City Community Junior/Senior High. Tinsman hit an inside the park home run in the second inning, singled in the third inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the fourth inning. Monroe Central JH got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Bristol Goad singled, scoring one run, Haidyn Knott doubled, scoring one run, Izzy McGrath singled, scoring two runs, and Ellie Lanter singled, scoring one run. Monroe Central JH added two more runs in the bottom of the second inning on three hits. Tinsman hit a solo inside the park home run, and McGrath singled, scoring one run. Monroe Central JH scored six runs on seven hits in the bottom of the third inning. Tinsman singled, scoring one run, Goad singled, scoring one run, Knott doubled, scoring two runs, McGrath singled, scoring one run, and Mati McConnell singled, scoring one run. Knott earned the win for Monroe Central JH. The starter gave up six hits and two runs over five innings, striking out nine and walking one. Brooklyn Westfall took the loss for Driver Middle School. The starting pitcher went four innings, surrendering 16 runs (12 earned) on 19 hits, striking out four and walking none. Monroe Central JH accumulated 19 hits in the game. Knott provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Monroe Central JH with three runs batted in. The pitcher went 3-for-4 on the day. Delainee Whitehead, Lanter, Goad, and McGrath each collected multiple hits for Monroe Central JH. Knott and Tinsman each stole multiple bases for Monroe Central JH. Monroe Central JH stole 12 bases in the game. Kali Firestone and Westfall were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Driver Middle School.
