Jed Ferguson With 3 Hits As Monroe Central Varsity Bears Beat Cambridge City Lincoln Varsity Golden Eagles By GameChanger Media Jed Ferguson collected three hits in four at bats, as Monroe Central Varsity Bears defeated Cambridge City Lincoln Varsity Golden Eagles 16-1 on Monday at Earlham College. Ferguson tripled in the fourth inning, doubled in the fourth inning, and singled in the first inning. Monroe Central Varsity Bears scored 10 runs in the fourth inning on the way to victory. Ferguson tripled, scoring one run, Caleb Luedike singled, scoring one run, Levi Pence doubled, scoring two runs, Kyler Bogue tripled, scoring two runs, Conner Baker grounded out, scoring one run, Ferguson doubled, scoring one run, Luedike singled, scoring one run, and Alex Middleton singled, scoring one run. Monroe Central Varsity Bears got on the board in the top of the first inning after Luedike doubled, scoring one run, and Middleton singled, scoring two runs. Monroe Central Varsity Bears added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Pence hit into a fielder's choice, Bogue grounded out, and Carson Siekmann singled to center field, each scoring one run. Luedike earned the win for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. The righty surrendered two hits and one run (zero earned) over five innings, striking out nine and walking one. Dustin Lunsford took the loss for Cambridge City Lincoln Varsity Golden Eagles. The starter went three and one-third innings, allowing 11 runs (10 earned) on 12 hits, striking out three and walking none. Monroe Central Varsity Bears amassed 18 hits in the game. Pence and Middleton were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in three runs for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. Luedike led Monroe Central Varsity Bears with four hits in four at bats. Ferguson, Myles Oliphant, and Siekmann each collected multiple hits for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. Bates and Collins each collected one hit for Cambridge City Lincoln Varsity Golden Eagles.
