The Golden Bears volleyball team traveled to Elwood High School for a JV & Varsity matchup. The Varsity team got off to a bit of a slower start and fell to Elwood in the first set 21-25. However, the Golden Bears regrouped very quickly and won the next three sets straight with scores of 25-7, 25-14, and 25-12 taking the match 3-1. The Golden Bears were led by Sophomore Maylynn Morrison who had 6 aces, 16 kills, 8 receptions, and 11 digs. Senior Raegan Quattlebaum added in 17 receptions and 15 digs. Sophomore Mckenna Murphy had 1 ace, 12 kills, 5 receptions, and 10 digs, while Junior Bentley Pegg had 4 aces, 39 assists, and 10 digs. The JV and Varsity teams will be back in action tomorrow night (8/25) when they host the Raiders from Southern Wells. The JV match is scheduled to begin at 6:00p.m.
