7th Grade: 7th Grade Lady Bears Defeat Northeastern The Monroe Central 7th Grade Lady Bears earned an impressive road victory over Northeastern on Tuesday night, defeating the Knights in straight sets, 25-11, 25-17. It was a complete team win, with every player contributing to the victory. The Lady Bears displayed a strong mental attitude throughout the match, staying focused, encouraging one another, and playing with confidence from start to finish. Cora Greene led the offense with 6 kills while also adding 6 digs, 5 aces, and 1 assist. Jovie Dunlap directed the offense with 5 assists to go along with 2 kills and 1 ace. Hailey Grove contributed 3 aces and 2 digs, while Jillian Goad added 2 digs and 1 ace. Harper Robinson chipped in with 1 dig and 1 assist, and Finley Whitehead recorded 1 ace and 1 dig. The Lady Bears continue to show growth as a team, combining strong serving, solid defense, and a positive mindset. 8th Grade: Your 8th Grade Lady Bears finished their week on the road against Northeastern and came out with the win! With 10 straight serves in the second set and finishing with 4 Aces and 5 assist Blakely Burge, Delainee Whitehead added 5 aces, 4 kills, 2 digs, Ellie Lanter 2 aces, 1 kill, Harper Whitehead added 3 aces, Alexa Tinsman had 4 kills, Mabrey Cheesman led the team with 6 digs, Emma Croyle had 2 digs, Contributing at the net with some touches were Kendall Johnson and Allana Fetters. 3-0 to start the season.
