The Varsity Golden Bears volleyball team hosted 5 other schools today for their annual invitational tournament. The Golden Bears got off to a good start playing the Bruins from Blackford high school. The Golden Bears won that match 2-0 with scores of 25-18 and 25-23. Next up the Golden Bears faced off with Heritage Christian. It had very hard fought moments but Heritage Christian got the match win 0-2 with scores of 18-25 and 15-25. The final match of the day for the Golden Bears was a repeat matchup against the Tigers from Hagerstown. The Golden Bears absolutely put up more of a fight in today's contest but still came up short 0-2 with scores of 16-25 and 21-25. Overall on the day, the team is definitely doing a much better job with having a "next ball" mentality. They continue making the necessary adjustments and improvements. For the day, the team put together collective stats of 13 Aces, 46 Kills, 6 Blocks, and 118 Digs. The Golden Bears will be back in action on Tuesday (9/15) when they host the Warriors from Wes Del in the Bear Den. The JV match is scheduled to begin at 6:00p.m.
