6th Grade: On Monday evening, the Monroe Central 6th grade volleyball team picked up its second win of the season in a home match against Cowan! The match went three sets, finishing 22-25 / 25-22 / 15-4. Individual highlights for the Lady Bears include Preslei Patterson's 8 aces, 2 assists, 1 kill / Lindsey Ulrey's 8 aces, 1 kill / Grace Morris's 3 aces, Joplin Huddleston's 2 kills, 1 ace / Lilly Ulrey's 1 ace / and Aubrey Gideon's 1 kill. The 6th grade is back in action on Thursday night in an away matchup against Driver. 7th Grade: The 7th Grade Lady Bears battled Cowan in a hard-fought three-set match, coming up just short after a strong start. The Lady Bears opened the match with great energy and determination, taking the first set 25-22. Cowan answered in the second set, edging out the Lady Bears 25-22 to even the match and force a deciding third set. In the final set, both teams continued to battle, but Cowan came away with the 15-11 victory to take the match. Hailey Grove led the Lady Bears with 3 aces, 3 kills and 2 digs. Jillian Goad contributed 2 aces and 3 digs, while Cora Greene recorded 3 aces and 2 digs. Jovie Dunlap added 2 aces and 2 assists. Berkley Taylor finished with 1 kill and 1 dig, and Finley Whitehead added 1 ace. 8th Grade: Your Lady Bears played at home against Cowan came out slow but finished winning the game (26-24, 26-24) great match between both schools. Leading the Bears to victory with 6 kills, 1Ace,2 Digs Alexa Tinsman, Delainne Whitehead added 1 Kill, 2 Aces, 2 Digs, Harper Whitehead added 1 Kill, 1 Dig. Mabrey led your Bears in the back row with 6 digs, 1 Ace. Lady Bears Offense was led by Blakely Burge with 7 Assist, 2 Aces. 6-0 as we travel to Hagerstown.
