6th Grade: In another 3-set match, the Monroe Central 6th grade volleyball team took a loss against Driver Middle School. Full set totals were 25-18, 21-25, 7-15. Preslei Patterson led the Lady Bears with 1 dig and 4 aces. Also contributing to the aces column were Joplin Huddleston with 2, as well as Grace Morris, Lindsey Ulrey, Lilly Ulrey, and Jovie Huddleston all with 1 apiece. The next time the 6th grade sees gametime action will be next Monday against Daleville. 7th Grade: The 7th Grade Lady Bears fell to Driver in three sets. After dropping the first set 21-25, the Lady Bears fought back to win the second 25-22 and forced a deciding third set. Driver was able to pull ahead in the final set, 15-10, to take the match. Cora Greene had a great defensive night, going after everything near her and refusing to let balls drop. She finished with 2 aces, 2 kills and 3 digs. Jovie Dunlap recorded 2 aces, 2 kills and 2 digs. Jillian Goad finished with 2 kills, 2 assists and 2 digs. Hailey Grove added 2 aces and a kill, Berkley Taylor had an ace and a dig. 8th Grade: Your Lady Bears traveled to Driver and won in 2 sets (25-23, 25-15) leading the offense with 6 Kills, 2 Aces, 1 Block, 1 Dig was Alexa Tinsman, 1 Kill, 1 Ace Harper Whitehead, 1Kill, 2 Digs Ellie Lanter, 1Kill, 4 Aces, 2 Digs Delainee Whitehead, 2 Aces, 1 Dig Mabrey Cheesman, 1 Dig Emma Croyle making our season 8-0 heading to the Driver Invite Saturday. This win meant a lot to Coach Misti thank you for all your hard work and support girls!
