6th Grade: The 6th grade volleyball team at Monroe Central dropped a tough-fought contest to Selma on Wednesday night. The match ran 3 sets with scores of 25-21, 9-25, 8-15. Performance highlights on the Lady Bears' side of the net included Preslei Patterson with 5 aces, Grace Morris with 4 aces, Lindsey Ulrey with 2 aces, and Joplin Huddleston with the team's lone kill. The 6th grade squad will make the long haul to Southern Wells tomorrow for their next match. 7th Grade: The 7th grade Lady Bears fell to Selma in two sets, 18-25 and 19-25. Cora Greene led the Lady Bears with a strong all-around performance, recording 4 aces, 4 kills, 3 digs, and 1 assist. Jillian Goad contributed 3 assists and 1 dig, while Berkley Taylor added 1 kill and 1 dig. Jovie Dunlap finished with 1 kill, 1 assist, and 1 dig, and Finley Whitehead added 1 ace. Hailey Grove had 1 assist, and 1 dig. Harper Robinson contributed 1 dig for the Lady Bears. Although the Bears came up short, they continue to gain experience and grow together as a team. 8th Grade: Your 8th Grade Lady Bears took their first lost of the season against a very solid Selma Brave team (25-18,16-25,15-12) We all struggled with emotions with the loss of Charli and the loss of Coach Misti's Gramps. Blakely Burge had 7 assist. Alexa Tinsman 1 Ace, 5 Kills, 3 Blocks, 3 Digs. Delainee Whitehead had 2 Kills, 3 Digs. Mabrey Cheesman 1 Ace, 7 Digs. On the road tomorrow against Southern Wells.
