Monroe Central 64, Indianapolis Tindley 12 The Monroe Central football team earned a dominant 64-12 victory over visiting Indianapolis Tindley Friday night in Parker City. Monroe Central’s 64 points are its most ever in a regular-season game, and third-most in program history. The game marked the celebration of Senior Night for the Golden Bears’ 11 seniors:, Luke Anderson, Carson Cruse, Peyton Cummins, Caden Dance, Henry Hochstetler, Brady Ireland, Grant Linville, Austin Schneider, Carson Siekmann, Dylan Painter, and Kaden Sullivan. The Golden Bears, who evened their season record to 3-3 with the victory, scored touchdowns on nine of their 11 possessions on the night. They had 417 yards of total offense and earned 20 first downs. Siekmann and Elias Hart split duties at quarterback for Monroe Central. Siekmann completed 3 of his 4 pass attempts for 48 yards and two touchdowns, while also running the ball four times for 25 yards and hauling in one reception for 14 yards. Hart, meanwhile, completed 11-of-18 passes for 157 yards with four touchdowns through the air, while also collecting 28 rushing yards and another score on the ground. Dance had a strong all-around game on offense, with four rushing attempts for 70 yards and a touchdown, while hauling in five receptions for 66 yards and three scores. Leum Butler’s three receptions on the night were all touchdown grabs, while Knox Meyers added a rushing touchdown. The defensive effort was just as dominant for Monroe Central, which forced seven takeaways. Meyers had two interceptions, one of which he returned 34 yards for a touchdown, while Butler and Nic Cope also had picks on the night. Ryder Slaven and Eli King had sacks on Friday night, with King’s resulting in a fumble recovered by Ayden Wolofski. Siekmann also earned a forced fumble, which was recovered by Butler, while Cruse recovered a fumble. The Golden Bears wrap up the regular season next Friday night, as they travel to take on Knightstown. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
